While all the attention is very focused on Bonnie and Charley and right to do so but take a peek to the east and look what is comming out.At least there are 2 systems that may develop one is in the water now South of the Cape Verde Islands and the other about to emerge West Africa.

But HD yes the Atlantic is in the dry phase of the MJO however look and Bonnie and Charley now and Alex last week.

Actually, several of the globals I looked at today kinda latch on to the lead wave SSW of the Cape Verde Islands now ... the GFS and NOGAPS close off a circ. around 50-55ºW in about 3-4 days ...
These waves are currently traversing pretty far south right now ... appearing to be around 9ºN, well into some warmer SST's, but the mean trade winds are still quite strong ...

NUMEROUS STRONG
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ALONG AFRICA COAST FROM 8N TO 10N
BETWEEN 12W AND 16W...PROBABLY WITH THE NEXT AFRICAN EASTERLY
WAVE. SCATTERED STRONG SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITHIN 30 TO
40 NM ON EITHER SIDE OF 10N26W 8N28W 6N29W.

Another YIKES !! Latest pic shows well organized waves. At Senegal Pressure of 1007 mbs were reported at Dakar so this wave emerging Africa is one to watch down the road.
