100% proof that Charley is NOT going to SW Florida

#1 Postby Guest » Wed Aug 11, 2004 4:26 pm

Folks I have 100% proof charley is not going to FT Myers

Just heard from a friend of mine at TVA who use to work at TWC..... Cantore is going to Ft Myers...

no chance in hell that charley is coming there now...

==========

folks that was Joke... please pay attentiuon to all NWS TPC watches and warnings

In the weather field there is this half truth and half story called the cantore Jinx... that where ever he is the STORM-- be it hurricane or snowstorm then the system will not be there...

recall ALEX.... TWC hasd him at Wrightsville beach on ALEX ' WEST SIDE where little to no action took place and even when it was obvious ALEX was passing by to the S and E they kept waisting time showing him with partly cloudy skies behind him and NOTHING going on, all the while Alex was bearing down on the outer banks....

Remember the March 2001 media hype snowstorm? or the NE PA snowstorm bust in march of 1999? FELIX and cantore in V beach in 1996.... "sunmy west winds at 15 MPH hurrican warnings are discontinued here in Va beach .... back to you jeff in the studio"...

TWC model is as reliable as the others as far as I am concerned. Cantore comes and its 50/50 at best that TWC track verifies.

Sounds like you should go to the beach and thank him for being such an effective blocking force.

lol.....You're right about Cantore. I can't recall a single time when he's been in the right spot. Always a bridesmaid........never the bride.

I remember one year (was it Opal - I can't remember) they sent Cantorie over to LA, but the cane took a path to the NE. He was motoring all up and down the coast and was visibly exasperated. He was on the cam reporting from Gulf Shores and looked like he hadn't slept in 2 days.

I wish I had a job like that.

But, more than that, he is an excellent OCM. No condescending comments, no "I have to explain this to you at the kindergarten level", etc.

Met Cantore for the first time today ( St. George Island) and he told me that he and Mike Siedel would probably not cover one storm like that (Bonnie) when another one would be coming(Charley). He seemed like a pretty cool guy and was real friendly.

I have always like his enthusiasm and friendly presentation..of course seeing him Live on-air over on Sanibel Island a few minutes ago..wasn't all that comforting..He also is good at projecting his concern..

You had me on that post subject DT!

Too bad for Cantore...maybe he'll never get a chance to be blown away by a hurricane in the fine company of Brain Williams from NBC news...hee hee. :) Mike Seidel has all the fun!

This jinx thing holds some water. The center should pass S. of Cantore as it seems he always "holds post on the weak side." He did luck out on Josephine a few years back..weak as she was.

The posts or stuff said are NOT an official forecast and my opinion alone. Please look to the NHC and NWS for official forecasts and products.

Model Runs Cheat Sheet:
GFS (5:30 AM/PM, 11:30 AM/PM)
HWRF, GFDL, UKMET, NAVGEM (6:30-8:00 AM/PM, 12:30-2:00 AM/PM)
ECMWF (1:45 AM/PM)
TCVN is a weighted averaged

Opinions my own.
