I was wondering if there has been two tropical systems hit the state of Florida at the same time?

If that doesn't happen, Have two tropical systems hit within days of each other, One North and One South Before?

I'm putting my money on Charley Being the stronger one at this point in time, though Bonnie is catching up!!

1-2 punch

#2 Postby Carolina_survivor » Wed Aug 11, 2004 12:52 pm

Eastern North Carolina experienced a one-two punch like that back in 1999. First Hurricane Dennis swung by our coastline -- went out to sea, backtracked west and came back toward us, and then stalled off the coast. That left us with incredible rainfall for days. Our rivers were at an all-time high from Dennis just as Hurricane Floyd approached and nailed us. We had entire towns wiped out in the resulting inland flooding -- a 500 year flood they said.

Yes but there was like a week or something there between the punches from Dennis. My daughter was not thrilled to have to leave home 2 times from one storm, that much I do remember. She always found the tropics a pain as she couldn't play out side...was mommy and grandma's thing...interestingly enough..this year she is VERY interested in tropics and weather (wants to do her science project about some sort of weather)...amazing what a few years do *winks*

Agree. When I was a Child, I was so scared of storms that I would bury my face in the pillows and pee the bed at the sounds of rain! Now I chase em :)
