It is very possible. The main question would be how much weakening occurs over Florida and then if it reamerges over the gulf stream near the east coast it could re strengthen quickly. Best bet right now is take keep close tabs on the lastest forecasts.

Talk about a premature prediction. It's not a done deal yet and who knows Florida may luck out and Charly may go out to sea.
Though somehow I feel if that happens a few on this board may be dissapointed. I'm sorry if I offended anyone by stating that but it's true.

Charley is not going out to sea. It's gonna hit someone...It is unavoidable. That is not an option....someone is going to get clobbered.

By the same token AFM- It's a little early to say *when* it makes landfall *in x place* where will it go next. Even slight changes in the forcast would make significant changes in landfall location and how or IF it will impact the east coast.

No doubt that some would like to wishcast a fish, there is no physical way either of these storms could miss hitting someone, U.S. or otherwise. And even if winds are not an issue, the rain surely will be.

I agree. the one sure thing is it goes east of the Appalachians. Combine this with the cool air and you got a lot of rain. If it tracks far enough east to feed on the gulf stream...then you have even more rain and some wind.

I live a few miles up the coast (Charleston) and the sun is shining here now. Nice day. Wish you were here. :)

That's what I'm concerned about AFM. I'm in the DC area and it looks like both storms are going to track east of the Apps.
