Quick hits on both systems;

The gulf system looks to be getting better organized...but it's small. Recon will surely go out but the TPC will probably wait for a 5PM upgrade back to TD2.

93L looks to be getting much better organized. Even the convection out front is organizing into band type structures...and not amorphous blobs like TD2 did in the same region. Check out this SSM/I image from a couple of hours ago....the blue dot in the middle of the convection is likely the mid-center:

Looks like 93L is a player for sure. We'll see if we get any west wind reports as it crosses the islands.

Mike, how much of a problem is the proximity to the SA coast here? Is it far enough North to still have a good chance at development or does it need to move further away? Obviously the further N of the coast the better the odds for development but I am talking this specific system and the parameters currently surrounding it.

I don't think the NE SA coasts is as mountainous a terrain as back to the west. That being said, there could be some limited amount of disruption but wouldn't expect much today. But, if it continues to hug the SA coast it will get affected by the mountains as it nears 70w.
