Note the ESE jet coming into the Yucatan between Cozumel and Belize heading into the northern part of that upper low now moving WSW into Mexico. Convection with the disturbance is being drawn WSW toward the Yucatan by that jet. Tstms are diminishing north-south over the past 3-4 hours. The key will be whether the blob near 21.3N/85.5W (near the lower-level circulation, perhaps 850mb-700mb) actually takes over and develops overnight. Or the storms could just move over the Yucatan tonight.
