What other states today had voting besides NC?

#1 Postby Skywatch_NC » Tue Jul 20, 2004 6:12 pm

My folks and I went to vote at an area middle school near our townhouse community after Dad got off work...it's a very nice feeling to know we exercised our civic duty by doing so and look forward to seeing the returns tonight if our guys or gals made it for the fall election. :)

As K.C. said, Georgia has a lot of primaries today. They are having the senate primary(Democrats and Republicans) to see who will face off in November for Zell Miller's retiring seat. There are also a number of Supreme Court, District Court, and other local races.

Georgia had it's Presidential primary on March 2nd(Super Tuesday).

Alabama's statewide and Presidential primary(not that it mattered, LOL) was June 1st.

No elections here in Alabama today.

VERY tight results now between Republican governor candidates Patrick Ballantine, Richard Vinroot and Bill Cobey!!

There will be a run-off election come August 17th for governor! :D

John...last I checked...the fella who I voted for...Ballantine...is immediately behind Vinroot...who's in 1st place right now.

Vinroot has ran in the past...1996 and 2000 and lost both times to his Democratic contender. :(

Ballantine is a young guy at 39 while the rest of the pack of Republican governor candidates are in the AARP club! lol

Sounds like they are worthy candidates.. We vote here on August 31st or something like that.. and then again of course on election day..

I already voted back in March in the primary and for a 1/2 cent sales tax to supposedly help the schools {it failed miserably lol}

The only reason NC had elections was b/c primaries have been delayed and delayed since may. May was when we were supposed to have them. I voted :) :)

May would have been milder for sure instead of steamy July. :)

JQ, this was my first voting in Wake County since having moved down here in late March. :) The place where my folks and I go to vote...Wakefield Middle School...is a beautiful building...the polls were set up in the school auditorium/theater.

Where's your voting precinct? :)

PS: I like the style of voting: Finish the <--- --- :)

JQ, after supper tonight my folks and I did a riding tour in our van on the opposite side of Falls of Neuse Rd. and just "dreamed" as we looked at the lavish mini mansion-type houses down a rolling road neighborhood and their fancy front yards/landscapes, etc. :)

I said to Mom...wouldn't it be NEAT to have some close friends or relatives who lived out here in one of these? Folks and I will have to make some friends over in that area! :D
