Jeremy - I saw live reports of this fire on the morning news! I wouldn't have wanted to be staying in this hotel! FYI - it's round, 18 stories tall, with a revolving restaurant on the highest floor. I've had dinner there, but years ago. After 9/11 I think I'd suggest another restaurant now. Good thing it was early morning and not dinner time. The restaurant would have been packed! Here's a hotel website to see a picture of the property, if interested:

Yeah that's the one overlooking I-75 just before the bridge, isn't it? I didn't realize that was the one...

Jeremy - yes it's the hotel overlooking I 75 as you cross from OH into KY.

Read this updated article and see if you get the reaction I get when the lady was told it was no big deal by a desk clerk. No big deal? I know now if I'm ever in a public place and there's a fire, we are getting out ASAP. No one has to tell me only a few floors are being evacuated, I'll still go outside until all is clear.

Things are getting back to normal Tuesday afternoon at Covington's Radisson Hotel after a small fire on an upper floor.

The fire forced hundreds of guests at the Landmark Circular Hotel just off Interstate 71-75 to evacuate for over two hours.

No injuries have been reported after the small fire led to a frightening rude awakening for many of the guests of the 20-story Radisson Hotel.

Some say they didn't know anything was amiss until firefighters showed up. Others heard booms, and opened their doors to find hallways filled with smoke.

Although nothing looked wrong with the towering Radisson Hotel from the outside, Firefighters say a fire in a linen room lead to an evacuation that some guests say was a frightening experience.

"We heard a boom and it woke us up. So I went to the bathroom and then there was another boom," said Joslin Metz, a 17th floor guest.

"Underneath the door, you could see flashing in the hallway. So my husband opened the door and it was full of smoke."

Metz says nothing happened when she pulled a fire alarm, so she ran through hallways and stairs screaming "Fire! Fire!"

"I went down and I went into the lobby. I told the employee the 17th floor was full of smoke and he told me it's no big deal -- but he said maybe you should go outside. That's what irritated me the most, his lack of concern," said Metz.

Another guest from the 12th floor says he heard the fire alarm, but it didn't sound very urgent.

"It wasn't like a loud fire alarm, 'get out of your room.' It was like -- okay, 'there is something going on.' The lights were flickering a little and the fire alarms were just "tweeting" a bit."

The Covington fire chief says the fire and the evacuation were handled properly -- with attention focused on floors affected by smoke.

"We had an alarm called to the Radisson Hotel," said Chief Joe Heringhaus.

"On the 17th floor, in a linen room, there was a fire in the linen room. We evacuated from 17, 16 and 15..."

Crews were dispatched to the Covington hotel around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday morning for a fire in the 17th floor towel storage room.

Floors 15, 16 and 17 of the building were evacuated.

Although only minor damage was done as a result of the fire, the elevators were damaged due to the water used to fight the fire.

Yeah I would not have let them tell me that it was only 3 floors if I was on the 12th floor...I'd be outta there! As for the employee saying, "No big deal", well...I think it is! I would not want to stay there if they are gonna act like THAT!
