Hi people.. I know probably none of you are doctors.. but I thought I'd try this lol..
On occasion.. I can walk distances and not get any cramps.. Then there are times I can walk only about 1/4 mile and get really bad ones..
But when I do my occasional after dark workout.. I tend to not cramp up at all no matter how far I go..
What do you think is causing my cramps? Is it the heat? lack of stretching perhaps? Or am I just wierd in some way lol..
Opinions as always welcomed..
I have another question lol

Drink more water. As your body dehydrates, the potassium and electrolyte levels vascilate and causes cramping. I live in FL too, and with the humidity here, dehydration is very real and can be very dangerous. The fact that you can walk certian distances with no problem at times, and short distances at other times is directly proportional to the amount of water in your body at the time and how much sweating you are doing. At night this would be a minimal loss, explaining why you can walk distances with no problems.
DRINK YOUR WATER. CARRY WATER WITH YOU. It's so important here...

I'll give this a shot.
Marty gets cramps ALOT in his calfs and insteps after karate. He'll try eating bananas and using ice packs. When you train, you do alot of stretching exercises before and after you train. Cramps are usually associated with a loss of potassium from sweating. You probably don't get the cramps during the evening because you won't sweat as much as you would as during the day.
Make sure you stretch, eat bananas or take potassium supplements and I'd wait until it's the evening before you walk. Also, Gatorade, Powerade, etc. are specially made to replace the sodium, potassium, etc. that you've lost during a workout.
Hope that helps!
