Memo From GeorgeWBush.Com Concerning Kerry-Edwards 04'
http://www.georgewbush.com/KerryMediaCenter/Read.aspx?ID=2895
JOHN KERRY’S SECOND CHOICE: Kerry/Edwards ‘04: “The Ultimate Flip-Flop”
* When John Kerry’s first choice for a running mate turned him down, he turned to the polls.
* After stating that he needed a vice president who could step in as President, John Kerry chose the one man he called too inexperienced to be President just months ago.
* John Kerry’s selection of John Edwards is a flip flop on the most important decision a candidate for the presidency makes in the course of his campaign.
* A candidate’s selection of a Vice President is a sign of how he will lead. In John Kerry’s case we know he’ll settle for number two; that he will turn to the polls; and that he will make the most politically expedient choice.
What Does The Kerry/Edwards Ticket Stand For?
The Kerry/Edwards ticket represents one of the most divisive and out of the mainstream tickets for President. Never before has the Democratic Party chosen the 1st and 4th most liberal members of the United States Senate to represent it in a Presidential campaign.
Kerry’s poll-tested running mate was selected to help Kerry close the “charm gap” with voters. Kerry’s consultants know that Kerry’s inability to excite a crowd or communicate an optimistic message is a growing problem for their campaign.
On the most important issues facing our country—growing the economy and winning the War on Terror, the Kerry/Edwards ticket is out of the mainstream.
Senator Edwards delivers his pessimism with a southern drawl and a smile, but his message of a divided America rings hollow in the ears of an optimistic America that is united in meeting the tests of our times with strength and hope.
Kerry and Edwards share a commitment to talk down this great nation and the progress we’re making in the War on Terror and in growing the economy.
Kerry And Edwards Push An Anti-Growth Agenda
* Senators Edwards And Kerry Both Voted Against The Historic 2001 And 2003 Bush Tax Cuts.
* Senators Edwards And Kerry Voted Against Full Marriage Penalty Relief.
* Senators Edwards And Kerry Voted Against The Child Tax Credit.
* Senators Edwards And Kerry Both Voted Against Fully Repealing The Death Tax.
* Senators Edwards And Kerry Both Blocked The Bipartisan Energy Bill And Both Now Oppose Free Trade Agreements Such As NAFTA.
Kerry And Edwards Do Not Share The Priorities Of America’s Families
* Senators Edwards And Kerry Both Opposed Medicare Reform And Prescription Drugs For Seniors.
* Senators Edwards And Kerry, Under Pressure From Trial Lawyers, Have Consistently Voted To Block Medical Liability Reform, Which Would Lower Health Care Costs By $60 To $108 Billion Each Year.
* Senators Edwards And Kerry Both Voted For No Child Left Behind, But They Both Now Oppose The President’s Education Reforms That Make Schools And Teachers More Accountable To Students And Parents.
* Senators Edwards And Kerry Both Oppose The Partial Birth Abortion Ban.
* Senators Edwards And Kerry Voted Against The Laci Peterson Law, Known As The “Unborn Victims Of Violence Act.”
Kerry And Edwards Have Both Voted Against Support For Our Troops
* Senators Edwards And Kerry Voted Against Body Armor For Our Troops
* Senators Edwards And Kerry Voted Against Health Care For Our Troops As Well As Support For Their Families.
* Senators Edwards And Kerry Voted Against Increased Combat Pay And Armored Humvees.
Kerry And Edwards: Kerry Not Sure Edwards Ready For Primetime
Kerry Questioned Edwards’ Lack Of Experience. (Nick Anderson, “Edwards’ Track Record On Trade Has Lane Changes,” Los Angeles Times, 2/19/04)
Kerry: “When I Came Back From Vietnam In 1969 I Don’t Know If John Edwards Was Out Of Diapers Then.” “‘In the Senate four years - and that is the full extent of public life - no international experience, no military experience, you can imagine what the advertising is going to be next year,’ Mr. Kerry said. With a grin, he added: ‘When I came back from Vietnam in 1969 I don’t know if John Edwards was out of diapers then. Well, I’m sure he was out of diapers.’” (Adam Nagourney and Jim Rutenberg, “With Hopes Up And Elbows Out, Democrats Give Iowa Their All,” The New York Times, 1/19/04)
Kerry Mocked Edwards’ “Ambitious” Nature After Only One Term In Elective Office. (Glen Johnson, “Once a Rival, Edwards Staying Close to Kerry,” The Boston Globe, 6/10/04)
Kerry Said Now Is “Not The Time For On-The-Job Training.” (Mark Z. Barabak, “Diverse States May Reshape The Democratic Race Today,” Los Angeles Times, 2/3/04)

If I was smart I would just quit typing. lol
I just feel that the other side should be presented as well. It would have been so simple if Kerry would have chosen Gephardt.

Ya, cause the Left dosent get presented in our world..
Chad... I understand your point, but I also feel that the other point of view has just as much reason to be presented here at S2K. And here @ S2K the more liberal viewpoint is the minority. Not that I mind... I just feel obligated to discuss more than one side of a story.
