Hi there S2k Friends, long time.... eh?

Well, I learned some of that fancy .html I took a year off for, maybe now I'm putting it to good use?

As I posted in my "Is it OVER yet" thread, read about how many citations I issued over the past 2 days for illegal campfires, it will AMAZE you just how STUPID people are!

A R I Z O N A Large Fire Location Map
WILLOW is 65,000 acres and burning to the South and West of the communities of Payson, Pine, and Strawberry. The lightning caused fire started 6/24 and is burning in timber, grass, and chaparral in extremely rough terrain. Jeff Whitney's Type 1 Team is managing the fire. Four residences and fifteen outbuildings remain threatened. The fire is estimated to be 8% contained with no total containment date predicted. Nearby water sources are limited as are control options due to the rugged wilderness terrain. The fire continues to exhibit long range spotting with extreme fire behavior. Fire activity is predicted to remain widespread today, as evidenced by yesterday's two distinct columns that developed in the afternoon as the fire burned intensely. Today, burnout will continue along the northeastern and eastern control lines and firefighters will continue to keep the fire from crossing the East Verde River. Resources assigned: 14 Type1 crews, 10 Type 2 crews, 6 helicopters, 32 engines, 9 dozers, 9 water tenders, 283 overhead, 951 total personnel. There are two fires on Mt Graham-one of which is a threat to the Mt Graham International Observatory which has a value of 220 million dollars.

Alaska has had some bad wildfires just north of the Fairbanks area as well.

Actually, up until the past 3 days, Alaska has been WARMER than most of Az. :?:

BUT....things are changing and it APPEARS the Monsoons are JUST a WEEK AWAY (x's his fingers, toes, eyes!) 8-)

Took some video this evening of the Nutall/Gibson fire on Mt Graham showing some flames and the glow of the fire-FROM SIERRA VISTA-70 AIRMILES AWAY!!!

We've had NUMEROUS showers up here today, total of .23" so far HOWEVER.....we currently have 9 NEW fires start just within the past 2 hours THANKS to lightning! :cry:
