BREAKING NEWS: South Korean hostage in Iraq murdered

#1 Postby Brent » Tue Jun 22, 2004 11:50 am

Al-Jazeera reporting it. Fox News says he was "beheaded" but everyone else simply says "Executed". More details later.

Al-Jazeera says they have a tape of the execution and will air it at 1pm ET.

Oh let's try and negotiate with them!!! They'll understand and release all the prisoners!!! NOT!!!!

I am as against violence as the next person, but I want someone to tell me how we are going to stop this CONTINUING OUTRAGE without just going in there and KICKING THEIR ARSES!?!?!?!?????

Meanwhile I continue praying for all the victims and their families on both sides!!!

no, they think they can kill a few people and win the war. osama said we were too weak to beat him.
we are on the defensive. why isnt bush doing something about iran? we should tell iran every time this happens we will take out part of their economy.

This is just a terror tactic that they think is so repulsive that Americans won't be able to stomach it and force a pull-out. Unfortunately they may be right. While I understand the "parking lot" sentiment, we can't, won't and shouldn't murder a million people over this kind of trash. What the Muslim wourld has to do is to stand up against this type of violence and denounce it for what it is. Murder. If Islamic law is enforced on those found to be aiding and supporting these crazy people then this will settle down.

Different war yes...but...then...I wonder why the United States couldn't have handled things better w/ Japan at the end of WWII w/out having to annihilate thousands in both Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

Kim's kidnappers had initially threatened to kill him at sundown Monday unless South Korea canceled a troop deployment to Iraq. The Seoul government rejected the demand, standing firm with plans to dispatch 3,000 soldiers starting in August.

NKTS, a South Korean security firm doing business in Iraq, told the AP in Baghdad earlier Tuesday that Kim was still alive and that negotiations for his release continued, with the company president expected to arrive in Baghdad from Seoul by Wednesday.

Further proof that these pigs don't want diplomatic negotiations.

The bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in fact saved hundreds of thousands of people on both sides. A land invasion of Japan would have results in so many more deaths. The reason the the second bomb was dropped was that Japan refused to surrender even after the first blast. In historical perspective, remember that we had also liberated a lot of out POW's during the drive to Japan. The atrocities that they committed against both military and civilian prisoners was fresh in the minds of all involved. While it's never gotten as much publicity and since it wasn't targeted at a spefic group like the Jewish people it often gets overlooked. They were kust as brutal as the Germans if not more so.

Trial at 8AM, execution at 8:30AM. Wishful thinking but again it just won't happen (publicly at least). One of the interesting things that might happen is that the new Iraqi government might just lower the boom once they have their feet on the ground. Islamic law is harsh compared to ours....
