I'm going to have to learn more about Guliani. Pennsylvanians got burned-sort of. We elected a popular big-city mayor as governor. Ed Rendell was mayor of Phila. He's gregarious like Guliani and was popular as mayor. He also had the reputation of someone who got things done, but seemed just a bit shady. He's turning out to be very liberal, and he's pushing gambling. Most people from the heartland don't really care for him. Of course he's a democrat, and that may be the difference between him and Guliani.

It wouldn't get rid of Cheney's health problem, it would still be there if he wasn't VP.

I know what you meant KC, but the wording just made me laugh.

Not a chance. Cheney is in poor health and everyone knows it.
That's part of it, but dumping Cheney has pros and cons.
A lot of swing voters may not like Cheney and if Bush were to replace him, he might pick up some of those voters.
On the other hand, if Bush dumps Cheney, some Republicans may desert him and not vote in November. Giulani is more of a moderate and that would turn his base off, but it might help swing voters and even moderate Democrats who don't like Flipper Kerry.

Good point, and absolutely a contributing factor.
sorry, has nothing to do with that. kerry,as an ultra lib had no chance. the reason for another vp candidate is so the republicans have someone to challenge hillary in 2008

Why does Rudy have to be VP to challenge Hillary??
If Cheney's health is a factor, I sure hope they arent going to put him in the CIA..LOL.....
Bush's approval rating is terrible, he is polling poorly and this would help his chances.
