Mini Van vs SUV
Keep hearing everyone say well they have a SUV or a Mini van for the kids etc.
Which do you drive or prefer?
I ask this after seeing a couple of replies in the opec thread.
Me i favor the mini van which i drive because you can get all the extras and you get alot better gas milage! BTW its a Ford Windstar.

Neither! We have a sedan as our family car. And I drive a simple Civic hatchback! To be honest, I don't care for van's or SUV's!!! A nice alternative to this delema are stationwagon's. If I had to purchase one it would probably be a Jetta. I know Passat's come in wagons, not sure about Jetta's.

I'm going to vote for an SUV. I'm partial to them because I drive an Explorer. I feel safe in it, especially since she has 4 wheel drive. You know, if I ever come up to a mud pit (or some other rough terrain) and have to drive threw it (ok I know the chances of this happening are slim to none, lol, but humor me), I tell myself I could make it. And she's mighty durable; if a little honda were to smack into the side of me, I might not even notice.
I love my truck, don't get me wrong, but now the whole gas situation makes me consider selling her and buying an economical car. Decisions, decisions.

Ok. LOL. Guess i didnt ask the right question here.
Wasnt about the difference between a CAR and the other two. It was the difference between a Mini Van and a SUV.
Oh btw concerning gas milage when i drove from Michigan to here i only had to fill up twice and my last fill up was in Eastern OH near the WV boarder and made it all the way to the coast here in Delaware.

Never driven an SUV.
I've driven my mothers Windstar before and it was nice. It gets dreadful gas mileage, like 17-20MPG, and has irritatingly grabby brakes, but it's been trouble free for 5-6 years now. Everyone told us it would break down constantly and be the worst vehicle we've ever owned. They were wrong.
