Termites

#1 Postby CajunMama » Sat Jun 05, 2004 11:39 am

Termite Season is here :( Found some tunnels on our building at work last week. Then, worrywart me had the bug guy check out my house....I'VE GOT TERMITES ALSO :grr: :grr: :grr: . I always check my slab for the tunnels and had last checked 2 weeks ago when I painted the house and did not see anything. They are coming to treat and bait my house Tuesday...hopefully there isn't any damage done to my home.

Been there, done that. Had the house treated TWICE and they were still here when we started gutting the master bathroom back in February. They have basically eaten their way from one end of the house to the other across the back. You might want to warn your neighbors as well, since BOTH of my next door neighbors also had them when mine were discovered.

Really, it would've been simpler to just torch the place........

Suzi Q -

We had them in our other house. We used Terminix and when they appeared again, they would come back and re-apply. You have the warranty from them that you will need to renew every year. I think that once you have them you're always going to have a problem so I would just make sure that you keep the warranty up to date and call the company if/when they come back. Sorry to hear that you have them Cajun! :(

We found some in a tree at my house and got terminix to come out and treat everything and they also installed this bait feeders in the ground all around the house that they come and check on periodically. Haven't had any problems since then.
