If you had a time machine, where/when would you go and why?

Fantasy aside...if I lived in any other era...even ten years earlier, I wouldn't have survived childbirth.

Therefore, I'm happy with where I am now, as this is where HE placed me.

How very true

A little fantasy here......I'd LOVE to go back to the mid to late 1800's, when the West was just being discovered, I've ALWAYS had a love for the "Days of the Old West!" When men were men and sheep were afraid!

The only way I would want to go back at all is if I knew all that I knew now...then believe it or not, I would go back to Vietnam in 1970.

I wouldn't want to change anything in my life, even though I made my share of mistakes. Now that I have kids, any changes in my life would deny them.

If I could go back to "visit," I would like to visit with Socrates, Newton, Leonardo, & Franklin.

Several big events... JFK Assassination, Nixon resignation, Reagan assassination attempt, 1989 SF Quake, 1991 Gulf War, and many other things. :)

I would like to go back to Medieval times in England.

Lindaloo - I was born in 1962 and I remember my "hippie" babysitters.

Was born in 1963...but wouldn't mind being in a back to the future type era...
ie: the 1950's...which were my folks H.S. years! :D 8-) Eat your heart out, Marty McFly!

I don't know if I'd want to go back in time and lose my precious computer, lol. And I certainly wouldn't want to go back to the days where women were seen as subordinate to men. So I guess I'd go back to my childhood and live up the good ole days again, the days of no bills & no responsibility, where my biggest "dilemma" was deciding which dress Barbie should wear, lol.

As long as you could keep what I know now, then I would go back to the start of time.If I had a second option then it would be the 1800's because of things we know, WOW the past and future would be even more incredible! My 3rd option would be the time of Aristole!

OK, ya finally got me.

If I COULD, I'd go back to England in July of 1066, and try to reverse the outcome of the Norman Conquest, while still defeating the Norwegians under Harald Hardrada at Stanford Bridge....then return as swiftly to 2004 as my machine would take me.

Any questions?
