JUST ON O'RIELLY. bush is blowing it on speeches

#1 Postby rainstorm » Wed May 26, 2004 8:14 pm

tony snow just revealed that bush is not going to give 5 more weekly speeches on iraq. this is an incredible blunder. he said bush is going to give commencement speeches and a speech at the ww2 memorial. o'rielly was incredulous. bush needs to talk to the american people about iraq.
i dont get it. is he trying to lose?

I think that he does need to keep communicating with the public on the situation in Iraq.

Someone needs to smack some sense into that man. I agree with his policies and beliefs, and I think that he will make the right decisions for the good of the country, but he is failing in the leadership thing. I've said it before: He acts more like a CEO than a President.

This "if they don't hear it than they can't blame me" attitude is getting annoying. Its not like he even makes up the speeches. All he has to do is read

LOL... for real.

I think this is a big mistake. Bush has to gain support for his Iraq policy if he's going to win.

Let's see now...you all seem to desire the President of the United States to spend all of his time "politicking", yet forget that he has a JOB to do.

Interesting.

Nah, I'm not saying politicking. FDR had his fireside chats, Ronald Raygun was the great communicator. Think of the great speeches by Churchill that inspired, gave meaning, encouraged, united, and LED his people thru the darkest hour. Bush would have way more support if he could make that emotional connection with the people.

Leadership makes people want to follow. 15 minutes a week would do the trick. That's not too much to ask.
