great in theory Steve, but the slimeball has already altered his backing out procedure...further evidence to me that he is indeed the supreme scumbag I thought he was.

Christmas will be here before you know it. Offer him a nice light by his driveway as a gift. Once he has installed it (like he would take the time to do that), well....accidents do happen!

Do NO SUCH THING!

What you need to do is view this as a test from God. Instead of being confrontational, do something totally unexpected and nice for him (baking a big fat apple pie would be a good start). This good gesture on your part may well be the spark that ignites a lasting friendship. (Stranger things have happened.)

It will then be much easier and less stressful to get the mailbox and other annoying situations involving this neighbor resolved. That's because it's hard to be nasty to someone who's nice to you. :)

P.S. It may well take many kind gestures on your part to get him to change his disgusting behavior but he'll come around eventually.

yeah...great idea, christain like and all that, and might work for some. However....I am not in the least bit obligated to turn this man's life around. However....I can give you his address and you can mail him the pie as a good will gesture on my behalf :)

Perhaps he will show his gratitude and invite you to the next local cock fight in town.

Hey J, is there any chance of just moving your mailbox to a different location along the frontage of your property? - like on the other side of your driveway or something?

I don't mean "confront him' like get in a fight. I just mean walk over and talk to him about it. As the saying goes...cut the foreplay.

Yes, that would be a sensible approach as this situation isn't exactly sexy.

Sorry about the misunderstanding.
