TORNADO WARNING
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TOPEKA KS
727 PM CDT MON MAY 24 2004

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TOPEKA HAS ISSUED A

* TORNADO WARNING FOR...
NORTHWESTERN DOUGLAS COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL KANSAS
SOUTHEASTERN SHAWNEE COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL KANSAS
SOUTHERN JEFFERSON COUNTY IN NORTHEAST KANSAS

* UNTIL 830 PM CDT

* AT 725 PM CDT...TRAINED WEATHER SPOTTERS REPORTED A TORNADO 5 MILES
SOUTH OF TOPEKA...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 20 MPH.

* LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
SOUTH TOPEKA
GRANTVILLE
LECOMPTON
PERRY
WILLIAMSTOWN
OSKALOOSA

IF A TORNADO APPROACHES...GO TO A BASEMENT OR SEEK SHELTER IN A
HALLWAY OR CLOSET ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF THE BUILDING. USE BLANKETS
OR PILLOWS TO COVER YOUR HEAD AND ALWAYS STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.

STAY TUNED TO WEATHER RADIO OR LOCAL MEDIA OUTLETS FOR THE LATEST
SEVER WEATHER INFORMATION.

A TORNADO WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1000 PM CDT MONDAY EVENING
FOR NORTHEASTERN KANSAS. A TORNADO WATCH ALSO REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL
1000 PM CDT MONDAY EVENING FOR EAST CENTRAL KANSAS.
