You never know, Garrett...Bush may get a little stormy himself tonight if the media gradients start stirring him!

Please explain to me why Bush didn't ask the networks to carry his speech tonight.

The last speech didn't go well, did it? Maybe, that's why. I did see part of that one.

Not because of that reason.

It was stated in another thread why the White House asked to not be carried on all the networks.

I'm watching it - but I think that it sets a bad precedent for President Bush NOT to show it on the major channels because he's bowing to the wishes of those that want to see the season finales. Those can be rescheduled - they rescheduled the shows during his last speech. I would think that he would want everyone to hear what he has to say.

BTW - isn't "The Swan" on Fox?

I agree. I cannot figure out why the WH didn't ask everyone to cover it. They can just delay the 8pm show til he's done. Geez...

geeeez...the guy can't win for losing! :) show all the sitcom addicts a little concern, and now he's "bowing".

The bottom line here is most Liberals (Steph aside...she makes me proud) could care less about watching a speech from our President. It goes hand in hand with why there is an abscense of Liberal talk shows on the airwaves. They just don't care enough to get involved and be informed, but then they turn around and act like they are authorities on everything happening out there in the political arena.

I'm curious how they stay so well informed???

I do think that he should have spoken on the major networks. He would have reached a broader audience and I think that Bush needs to do that -- not just cater to the people who watch the news networks. Those people are pretty informed anyways. It is the "average joe" who needs to know what the President is doing. I admit, I didn't watch... I was tracking storms, but I disagree with the saying most liberals could care less about watching a speech from the President. The truth is probably more like most people could care less. I am not degrading Bush... it is that case with any President. Sadly, far too many are uninterested...
