Come on Bunch. You are a veteran. You defended our right to freedom and part of that right is making a choice - voting for the person who has the guts to tell terrorists that they will no longer be tolerated!!!!!

That's interesting, Pburgh. You state that my service to this country gives me the right to a Choice. Then YOU tell me what my choice should be.

Your choice is not to vote, therefore you have no right to cry foul after the elections. Your choice was to join the military and as an American who served in the military your choice should be to support them and the President of the United States or is your name John? heehee

Whats up with that. Last time I checked you normally have more than one choice when you make a decision. I don't blindly follow the President and agree with his decisions. I will support, only in that I don't want him to give up, and let our troops down, but he has not done a good job planning the war effort, and he pinned us into a June 30, deadline to hand over governmental control to Iraq, and he has pinned us into only relying on some allies, and we do not have the support that we need from the international community to complete this war.

Relax Bill, Bunch is a friend of mine.

What support? France, Germany, Russia? Those three countries did not support the war in Iraq because of their dealings with Saddam Hussein. Would you support the ousting of a man who owed you millions of dollars? Better example please.

I respect the fact that you two think you are merely trying to convince me to exercise my right to vote. However, I would respect the debate a whole lot more if you weren't using such neo-McCarthyist tactics.

Chad tells me, in so many words: "Yes, Bunch, you have a right to complain, but it only counts if you vote. Otherwise, nobody will listen." Whether or not that is exactly what you meant by what you said, that's how I took it.

Pburgh tells me that I have the right to a choice. Well, that comment is not exactly CNN Headline News, but I digress. A loose definition of the word "choice" could be "deciding between TWO OR MORE selections. Then, I am told that my "choice" (SINGULAR) is to vote for the candidate that Pburgh supports.

Sorry, folks, but your arguments would carry more weight with me and I would respect them more if approached from a more neutral, diplomatic angle, i.e.:

"Bunch, voting is the right and privilege of every citizen of this country. You would be doing yourself a favor, and helping the democratic process of this country if you would vote." Or, something along similar lines. Don't tell me that my opinions count less unless I vote, and do NOT tell me that my freedom of choice is to do what YOU say.

Thanks, Bill. You must have posted that while I was still typing mine, otherwise I wouldn't have repeated the part about "choices being more than one," lol.

He should register atleast for local elections, but as far as the presidential election, I could understand not placing a vote, if does not care to make a decision either way.

Everyone in the United States of America should vote. It is their right and should at least do it.

Ok Bunch, you have the right to complain because you are an American. I guess I just will not take the option of listening to your griping when you haven't even exercised the wonderful freedom that you, as someone who served our Country, has given us -- The right to Vote. I'm not telling you who to vote for, I'm just saying VOTE!!!!!!! That's the only way you can make your voice heard. That's why you served our Country, isn't it???

Yes and also for people to say in order for you to speak your voice you must vote; they are wrong. I wanted Senator Biden to run for president, he was on the fence, lets say I gathered a few hundred people to mail him a letter asking for his candidacy. I didn't, but if I did he probably would have ran, and I would almost guarantee he would have easily been the front runner in the democratic primaries and is a stronger candidate than Kerry. So basically voting is the LEAST one can do to voice their opinion. There is alot more you can do, you don't have to vote if you feel there is no one worth voting for. but, if that is what you believe, then maybe you should be more active in finding and supporting people who have better ideas and would be good candidates. There is probably an infinite amount of things you can do that may be just as influential if not more so than voting.

I like Senator Biden as well.

It would be a heck of a contest if he and McCain were running!

Bunch, she didn't actually tell you who your choice should be. She said, "Come on Bunch. You are a veteran. You defended our right to freedom and part of that right is making a choice - voting for the person who has the guts to tell terrorists that they will no longer be tolerated!!!!!"
I'm assuming everyone here doesn't believe the terrorists should be tolerated. So, what she said could mean either candidate. Funny though you assumed she meant Bush. What does that say about Kerry? ;)
