I respect the fact that you two think you are merely trying to convince me to exercise my right to vote. However, I would respect the debate a whole lot more if you weren't using such neo-McCarthyist tactics.
Chad tells me, in so many words: "Yes, Bunch, you have a right to complain, but it only counts if you vote. Otherwise, nobody will listen." Whether or not that is exactly what you meant by what you said, that's how I took it.
Pburgh tells me that I have the right to a choice. Well, that comment is not exactly CNN Headline News, but I digress. A loose definition of the word "choice" could be "deciding between TWO OR MORE selections. Then, I am told that my "choice" (SINGULAR) is to vote for the candidate that Pburgh supports.
Sorry, folks, but your arguments would carry more weight with me and I would respect them more if approached from a more neutral, diplomatic angle, i.e.:
"Bunch, voting is the right and privilege of every citizen of this country. You would be doing yourself a favor, and helping the democratic process of this country if you would vote." Or, something along similar lines. Don't tell me that my opinions count less unless I vote, and do NOT tell me that my freedom of choice is to do what YOU say.
