Bush falls on bike ride
From CNN White House Correspondent Dana Bash
Saturday, May 22, 2004 Posted: 6:00 PM EDT (2200 GMT)

CRAWFORD, Texas (CNN) -- President Bush fell off his bicycle Saturday while riding on his ranch, according to White House spokesman Trent Duffy.

Bush, who was accompanied on his bike ride by his doctor, Richard Tubb, a military agent and a member of the secret service, fell about 16 miles into a 17-mile ride. The accident caused minor abrasions his chin, upper lip, nose, right hand and both knees, but was able to ride back home, said Duffy.

Tubb treated the president on site. Mr Bush, according to Duffy, was wearing a helmet and a mouth guard when he fell.

Reporters were told not to be surprised if the president is bandaged next time he appears in public.

The president and first lady still plan to go to Austin, Texas, for a graduation celebration for their daughter, Jenna.

The White House confirmed that Jenna, whose parents had already decided not to attend her University of Texas commencement, did not go to her graduation ceremony.

Last June in Kennebunkport, the president fell while riding a "Segway Human Transporter."

Gerald Ford was another President well-known for a bad equillibrium...remember that footage of him misstepping and falling head-long after emerging from Air Force One?

I'm thankful that Bush came through it without any serious injuries. :)
Remember also when he choked awhile back on a potato chip while watching a ballgame?

Officials say it was wet and that may have caused it.

Speaking of Kerry, he told reporters in front of cameras, 'Did the training wheels fall off?'... Reporters are debating whether to treat it is as on or off the record. Classy guy.

Too bad it wasn't a collision with a secret service agen. Then he could have done one better than Kerry, and taken the blame.

Did Bush blame Secret Service agent for cutting in front of him.
