Unfortunately George there are vulnerabilities in almost every piece of software. Just ask Microsoft lol As to the e-mail, they didn't have an e-mail passowrd. What they did was access the Administrative functions of the board. Within those functions are the ability to mass mail the board membership. That's how we send out the newsletter every month.

They also changed Chad and my password and e-mail adress in our profiles. This was done just to prove they were there. If they had wanted to they could have destroyed the whole board. We will do what we can to tighten up things to make it tougher for these types of idiots but there's no guarantee that this type of thing won't happen again. Some people just rather prove they can destroy things instead of trying to build something themselves.....

I agree Marshall.Sad but true. My friend at work said that people do this just to prove they can. Like I said...we are lucky they didn't do any harm. Like previously said. Everything that can be done will be done to prevent this from happening again!!

If anyone like myself ran the stormtracker.exe file, and if you are running nt, win2k, xp. Open task manger and kill the stormtracker.exe process. Even though it seems like the file is not doing anything it is running resident in memory until you kill the process. From what I can tell it looks like some type of logging program. I have no idea what it is logging.

I never did get the email from the mass mailing. I am thankful for that.
