Yup! I wont miss an episode (although I really am bummed about Latoya)

Fantasia does have the goods, how on earth Jasmine stayed as long as she has is really amazing. How she beat Latoya I really have NO CLUE! Dianna did well last night as well.

I think Latoya lost because everyone thought she had it made and didn't take the time to vote for her. What a shame. She had a terrific voice. Although, I don't think she had the personality that Fantasia has.

I got it taped last night while I was out on a church-related activity, and while my mom was asleep after dinner.

I saw parts of it last night. I missed Fantasia's first two performances, but I understand that they were good. I thought the last one "Greatest Love of All" was wobbly and I thought that Diana did better. From what it seemed to me though is that the judges have already "annointed" the winner in their opinions. I agree, Jasmine should not be there - she stuck out like a sore thumb last night.

IMHO Jasmine has no talent, and the show looks like a joke because talent has been voted off, and she remains. I'm voting for Diana to win, but Fantasia is great too.

I saw the auditions (the "You're going to Hollywood" or "Thanks...buh-bye" shows) and was impressed by Diana DeGarmo. I wondered (and am still wondering) if she's related to Eddie DeGarmo of the Christian music duo DeGarmo & Key.

I also remember being impressed by "scooter girl" but I guess she's long gone.

I hope Diana wins since she's from the neighboring state(Georgia). :D

Don't really watch the show though. Only show interest in the tryouts at the very beginning(makes me feel better about my not being able to sing, LOL) and then the very end.

Is anyone still watching...

I don't make a point to watch it often but have heard them all sing. I don't like Fantasia's brand of singing, nor did I care for Latoya. They hurt my ears! lol Diana has much talent, but is so young to handle such a title. I think a qualified panel of judges should choose the winner each time instead of letting the public vote. It can easily turn into a popularity contest. How else can one explain Reuben's winning? :D

Actually, I liked Ruben from the beginning of AI2 along with Clay and Kimberly. I got "hooked' on Clay as the season progressed and I thought there were some performances that outshined Ruben's. That finale was a close one which I can understand. However, Ruben's style is different - more R&B and not necessarily pop, which Clay is.

I think the three of them from last year are more talented than the final two from this year, though Fantasia and Diana are good. I liked AI2 better.

I'm not sure where the most recent AI thread is, or if there is one. I'm going to catch up on threads one of these days, after the wedding. Haven't been online much lately at night because there was a breaker problem and we needed an electrician to do some work before I hooked everything back up.

Anyway, quick prediction, even though I only watched the auditions and the "Gloria Estefan" edition: Fantasia.

Diana's talent struck me as solid on the day of her audition. I was certain she'd go far. However, I didn't know until recently (this weekend) that she'd already appeared on a TV show, as an actress, when she was younger. I thought AI didn't allow anyone who was already in the entertainment business. So, I'd disqualify her based on that alone...and I know she'll get gigs anyway.

Fantasia has talent and, unless I'm mistaken, is one of the three divas, right? Plus, she has the "one name" recognition going for her.

Anyway, it was fun peeking in. :) I see that I'll need to tickle J. But I have wedding stuff to attend to first (and in case you're wondering, yes, it's a traditional man-woman marriage).

*tickles J and runs back out*

Later!

FANTASIA WON!!!!!!!!!!

WOW!! What a performance! When Fantasia did her final song, after she found out she won, and she started crying, I broke down. It was so beautiful. She really is amazing!

She should have been voted off a long time ago IMO. The heavy set black girl and the other black girl should have been the final two. They sang much better than the two tonight. I am VERY disappointed!!!
