Well today was definately one of the bigger busts of the year. SPC mientioned significant tornadoes in the 0600z outlooks and there were none across the region. Reasoning?? Models underforecast 700mb temps and SFC cloudcover that would hamper instability in the region. It seems that the WAA/Moist advection just wouldnt stop. It capped the environment badly and didn't really give anyone a chance to destabalize. Cool pool developed in NW IA and caused the few scattered supercells that caused the large hail. Nice job to Evans/Crosbie at SPC for putting a hamper on the 1800z outlook and downgrading. Nice call...

Yes, the noon update was done well yesterday. I thought for sure that the cap would still be broken a little farther South and West than it was though.

Yeah, but the upper-level dynamics are not as impressive as yesterday, though I fully expect some severe storms (if in fact they develop).
RIght now at 113pm I am seeing some sun. WHere was this yesterday???
