Not so, actually.

I mentioned Eleanor Roosevelt, didn't I? Also, Jackie O. seemed to be quite a classy lady in her time. Of course, since then, there have been scandals and rumors about her husband and her family. As I said, I'm too young to know this for a fact, but it sure seems like America loved John and Jackie.

LOL! I totally agree. I cringe when she opens her mouth.

I feel that way about K.D. Lang. She gives me the heebie-jeebies to no end! She has some kind of a conceited, predatory look in her eyes. Bugs the crap outta me!!!

name calling

#23 Postby SolarQuestions » Wed May 19, 2004 7:58 pm

Lets see name calling, misunderstanding, hatred, loathing for a person none of you ever met in real life .....who is the lesser human being....her or you people ? At least have the guts to want to meet the person in real life before you judge them. Because if you dont then you are the wrong one. tsk tsk tsk ...judging a person you never met.

I didn't judge. I merely said she had a conceited, predatory look in her eyes that bothers me. Entertainers are known for putting on airs in an effort to come across in a way that is or is not really who they are.

She comes across in a way that makes me uncomfortable. Why is it wrong for me to express that?

And don't assume it's homophobia.

SQ - we're voicing opinions. You're being pretty judgemental yourself here. Are you here to have a discussion or to be negative?

Are you asking me to apologize about how I feel about Hillary Clinton? Why would I need to?

As I said, she lacks sincerity. It's not in her voice or her actions. Forget appearances -- twice, I've mentioned how those can be "put on."

For the most part, I agree that judging can be a bad thing. However, even children should be taught that when something doesn't feel right, go with their instincts. How many kids have avoided the grip of a child molestor because of those "judgments?"

see i did apologize

#34 Postby SolarQuestions » Wed May 19, 2004 8:17 pm

Here it goes ...it was several post back

..............

Posted: Wed May 19, 2004 9:49 pm    Post subject: I just dont have the heart for it

I try not to mock or ridicule anyone ...i try not to make hurtful jokes or name call anyone ....i dont have the heart for it....but hey thats me.....I wouldnt like it done to me and i couldnt do it to another ....If i have in any way i apologize to that person ...and i invite anyone to point out if i have done it to another ...i will be more than happy to apologize.

I am not perfect and i have my flaws and i wouldnt want anyone mocking me because of them .....what does the bible say about judging? I try not to do it. Peace.
.......
The problem with judging is this ...none of us our perfect and we wouldnt want our imperfections hated...we would want our good points liked. And if another wanted to really be petty they could keep the cycle rolling along....Mrs Clinton could detest and hate you just as much as you hate her ...but something tells me she wouldnt be like that.

I knew you were a liberal Stephanie by your signature with the donkey hitting the elephant.

I won't apologize about Hillary either. If I couldn't criticize anyone I have never met then I wouldn't be able to criticize Bin Laden or Saddam Hussein, just to name a few. :grrr:

That was a good post. I didn't see it before.

I try to see both sides of the story. However, you're not going to change the world overnight and people are going to disagree with and dislike others. That's just how it goes. On this board, as long as we're not bashing each other, then you're more than welcome to post here.

If there are posts that I disagree with or I believe will "rile" me up, I try to avoid them, but as a Mod, I do have the responsibility to review threads to make sure there is no bashing, etc. I get caught up in discussions as well. However, you do have a choice to read and respond or don't read at all and discuss something else. "Off Topic" pretty much means ANY topic.

Brent - you make a good point.
