Good Morning!
WOW! Has it REALLY been THAT long since I've been on the PORCH?
HOLY COW.....*hangs his head in shame, tsk, tsk* Sorry for my absence, if it's not ONE thing, it's another
From pulling 32 hours a month now of reserve duty with the PD, to business being REALLY good, to searches, to catching kids with matches trying to burn the mountain down, to the "WIND!"
I don't know what day it is, what time it is, who's who, what's what
ANYWAYS.......what a SAD turn of events yesterday with the beheading of the American civilian, makes me SICK to my stomach, hope the HADES we catch the S.O.B's that are responsible for this horiffic act of terrorism
I won't say what I feel we should do to the scumbags once we catch them, this is, after all, a FAMILY site!
Furry, glad to hear the fires are out and a VERY BELATED Happy Anniversary!
Geeesh, I have SO many posts to catch up on.....I *might* have time today, the WIND is HOWLING once again, driving the fire danger into the EXTREME catagory. We are WORSE off now than we were 2 years ago during the Rodeo Chediski Fire, the Haines Index is at a "2".....which translates into the moisture in the fine fuels is ALMOST non existent
It is SOOOOO dry up here and we're at LEAST 2 months away from ANY moisture, God help us!
That's ENOUGH doom and gloom for one day "LOL!" Take care my friends, I'll "try" to stop by more often......OH, BTW, if you see patio furniture blowing by your house, it's MINE
This is the second set of patio furniture I've lost this spring thanks to the WIND

Am i allowed in here?
I'm not very welcome in the Off Topic room, so I'm not sure if you want me in here, either. I am so tired of being put down because my views don't agree with the majority. Anyway, I do like talking to the people who can handle an opposing viewpoint nicely.

What? Sunnyday - I for one, welcome opinions that are not of the norm here! Do like I do - avoid politically driven topics. Then you'll do fine. But if you want to post an opposing viewpoint, you should be able to do so. That is my opinion of what this board is all about. I know it doesn't seem that way at times, there is a majority here that seem to view issues the same way, but in theory, all Storm2K members ~should~ be able to voice their opinions. If they're done so with respect to others. Which you always do anyway. In a wordy way, I'm trying to say I enjoy your posts and to please stick around!

Of COURSE your welcome here on the Front Porch Sunnyday, just be NICE and we won't make you wear the "I don't play well with others" t-shirt "LOL!" JUST KIDDING
HEY....we all have different views, if we didn't, what a BORING world this would be!
DANG....2 days in a ROW on the front porch, must be a record of sorts
BRRRRRR! I thought it was SPRING, nearing SUMMER, not FALL, entering into WINTER
It's FLIPPIN' CCcccccold! I've got the TRUE Pot Belly Stove CRANKIN' this morning, it's now 24
Needless to say, all the frost sensitive plants are GONE, FRIED, FROZEN, like Green Giant peas
AH WELL, it's GOOD for the local nursery business
Not much else going on, think I'll go back inside and sit by the FIRE "Bbbbbrrrrrrrrrr!" No THANKS, I'll pass on the lemonade this morning

Well, we are off til Saturday in Vegas....we're going to meet up with Brian's sister from South Carolina. Since we didn't make it to his brother's funeral, and the brother lived with this sister, we thought we'd best visit with her while we're in the same time zone! So, we'll be leaving in a few hours, whhen Brian gets home from work. Take care everyone and I'll talk to ya when we get back!
*Throwing Dennis and Michelle a cozy down blankey to keep them warm and toasty! :O)

Interesting Story
on the news tonight of interest to wildland fire fighters. Four 747's are being outfitted as tanker aircraft for slurry drops. The aircraft obviously can't fly as low as the grounded "heavys" but they can drop 24000 gallons of retardent from 400 ft along a five mile long swath. The aircraft are being outfitted at the Pinal AirPark west of Tucson. A Mesa Company is outfitting 20 aircraft as mid size slurry tankers for the California Division of Forestry.

It is sticky this morning on the front porch. I am enjoying my time without much to do these last couple of days. I am working some on the house, but I am only the "assistant". In other words, I do the meaningless and dirty work.

Actually
temperatures of around 100F are just barely in the hot category for the Desert. For a real experience, try Vegas and the Desert in late June and July when you will get the kind of heat people have no clue what it's like until they experience it-I'm talking of course of 115-120F.
