This morning we had a walk-through with our townhouse head builder Jerry and our realtor and Jerry explained to my folks and I about the certain appliances, etc., and how to operate them. :) He also put some blue tape strips near areas that we noticed needed some final touch-ups...minor scratches...there was one major one in the hardwood, etc. But over all just some minor cosmetic work.

Eric :)

Thank you very much, Garrett, Luis and Shannon! :)

A mother of a local realtor in Roanoke Rapids bought our's...she and her husband have moved up from Jacksonville, FL.

Shannon, so sorry to hear that you haven't had any buyers. :(
The Lord will come through for you all soon, Sis! :)

Where are you, Brian, Chloe and Brett staying in Temecula? :) Have you bought a house or do you have to wait until a buyer comes along there in Bossier City?

Eric, that's sooooo exciting. I've moved many times in my life and, yes, it's really hard work. The longer you live in a place the more "stuff" you accumulate. You've earned a break!!!!!!! Enjoy your new home.

Furry, I hope someone soon realizes the value of that wonderful home down south!!!!

Thank you very much, Karan! :) I thought of you, Wxbuddy, when we had a walk-through today and pondered..."Hey Karan could come here and do those cosmetic touch-ups on the paint work!"

What was kinda funny...our head builder Jerry has medium build height...I'm 6' 3 1/2" and anyway he had put a tape strip in a general area where a flaw was found but then I noticed that it wasn't in quite the right place so moved it up just a little...anyway, I re-put the tape on a little too hard and was told to loosen it up or the first coat of thin paint would come off on the tape...sure enough a little bit of paint did come OFF in that certain spot! Oh well, live and learn! Well, it will be painted in general again anyway! :D

Karan, you'd love the area of Wakefield Plantation...our high back deck and you can look at a stand of woods with a clearing and then view the golf course "straightaway" area! 8-) I don't play golf but could sit out there and soak up some rays and watch the players...hole #8 is behind our area.

((((HUGS)))) :)

Eric - it was so nice logging on to see several replies from you and a new topic, started also by my favorite Storm2K member (sorry everyone, but Eric's the reason I joined here in the first place, for that he has a special place in my heart!). Sure hope you can relax soon too! I dread this day. I don't know how this happened but each and every closet in our home is a cluttered mess. That HGTV show about organization? I need to be on that show! LOL I seriously blame myself for not saying no to my mother years ago, when she'd clean out her closets guess who she gave it all to? Yup, me. And have I used any of it? Hardly! Now I say no, and she gets upset with me. I am not the Goodwill!

There's an HGTV show also??? :) :) :)

I'm hooked on "Clean House" on Style Network and "Clean Sweep" on TLC. They're virtually the same show (they haul it all out, separate it, throw some away, sell some, keep some, and then put it all back in a reorganized tidy fashion). However, they have a different crew and I like the TLC group better.

You have to reside at Wakefield to play golf here unfortunately. :(

Yup, it's called Mission Organization I think. They go into one room of the messy person's house (that would be me!). They ask what the intended purpose of the room will be, when organized - guest room, office, play room, multipurpose room, etc. First I think they haul everything out of the work space, otherwise it would all get in the way. Next they buy bins or containers, labels, etc. Putting back what you want there - paperwork, bills, sewing supplies, tools, you name it. But it's finally organized. Then they go thru what was in that room, keeping or giving it away. Or pitching it (I guess that's a third option). They highly encourage the homeowner to get rid of something they haven't used in a while. No room for - well, maybe someday I'll use that. Nope - it's gone! I don't need someone to do this for me - what I really need to do is get my rear in gear and just do it! What you also need are huge blocks of time, something I rarely have anymore. But maybe over the summer, it would nice to chip away at my clutter! This show is inspiring though - you watch one segment and say to yourself - I can do that!

Mary, :)

Thank you very much, Wxbuddy! :D You'll always be extra special to me my fellow Cincinnatian...just because I don't live there anymore...I'm still an "adopted" one! :D

We gave some food items to our local rescue mission back in Roa Rpds and
some junk items to the dump there in Halifax County, too. :)

Mary, maybe Dr. Phil can help us "pack rats!" LOL

Eric - awww, you're welcome! Hey there's a thought - calling Dr. Phil, oh we need help!!!! Wonder what his house looks like.....

At one time in my life I was organized, I swear I was! In my 20s, first marriage and all. No kids of course. That's the reason for this state of things - I'm too darn busy to be a neat freak!!! I clearly remember the day Jim came home from work, stepping over toys and cheerios still on the kitchen floor, apologizing and hurrying to tidy up. He stopped me and said - did you play with the kids today, did you spend time with them? I said of course I did - look around, we played all day!!! He said well that's all that's important. So I like to blame it on him too. Trouble is this argument doesn't hold up anymore - my girls are 13 and 16! What's my excuse now - mmmmm, the internet, message boards, etc.?

That's great Eric! It sounds so exciting! I've moved several times myself and the work inbetween is tough, but in the long run, it's worth it!
