Hey Brett..... I am a fellow Skywarn Storm Spotter down here in the Panhandle. I also have family in Ft. Payne AL. and Tusc. AL who barely got missed by the tornado a couple weeks before Christmas a few years ago.
Anyway, This page has alot of links to various tropical weather web sites, e.t.c..... I find it useful. Scroll down it, if you got a question, they have an answer or a link!

Welcome to the tropics!
This is the place for the facts from the horses mouth so to speak.. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/index.shtml
Some well written understable information for a severe weather fan.
Below the Learn about Hurricanes is some good stuff.
The best way to learn it is ask the questions and question the answers to confirm the facts and your thoughts..plenty of people here during season willing to help.
oh yea..don't forget the storm2k newsletter..some good stuff in understandable verbage..

don't forget the site you are on!!! All of the above are great sources, as well as the great discussions that develop here. Also check out STORM2K sources such as the tropical Weather button above the MB. We strive to bring it all in one place, but to say the least are still growing and trying.

Oh yes, trust me I know and I read the discussions. Personally I want to learn how to forecast it myself though.
I am an ambitious person when it comes to the atmosphere and I like to develop my own "hypothesis" of things that deal with it. I read the casts though and develop opinions from them.
