Take a look at all the hits and near misses that Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands haved seen in centuries.This statistic grafic shows why we here in Puerto Rico and in the islands of the caribbean every year our eyes are poised to our east to see what system will be a threat and prepare for the worse but hoping for the best every season.

Of course some of those storms went on to affect portions of the US coastline!

In 1928 the only cat 5 hurricane (SAN FELIPE) was his name here that has made landfall at Puerto Rico later tracked into Florida.

It hit West Palm Beach right on the nose and killed about 1800 people in this area.

That cat 5 that made landfall in 1928 (SAN FELIPE)killed 312 people here in Puerto Rico as 160 mph sustained winds with gusts of 200 mph battered the island.
