New update of ITCZ shows axis much more north inside Africa

Inside Africa the ITCZ axis is around 11-12n and that contrasts with the position that the ITCZ axis is at this time in the atlantic around 4n on average of the latitud although the axis fluctuates sometimes up one or 2 degrees more north in latitud but right now 4n is the latitud where it has mainly lined up in the past month from april 11th to today and that is a little south of it's normal position at almost mid may but eventually it will climb to a more normal position in the comming weeks.

Sure enough, good point. We should start to see this slight shift northward over the Atlantic soon.

This is unlike the last couple seasons where the ITCZ was slightly to far ahead of schedule in it's migration northward. We did have early activity the last couple of seasons as well. Might be a normal boring start to the season...we shall see..

Yeah agree that many people will be bored about what is going on with the ITCZ that is not more north by now mid may but I find it normal what is going on.Now if we see the ITCZ axis way down in latitud around 5n at the end of july or early august then something is going on there that wont make the CV season as active as it is expected this season but time will tell about the ITCZ moving to the normal latituds in comming weeks.
