In the caribbean paragrafh it says that all indications from Barbados and Curacao observations as well as sattellite imagery patterns in past days indicate that a weak tropical wave may be in the area near Panama and Costa Rica.If this wave is introduced tonight at the 8:05 discussion outlook it would be the first wave that is analized this year by TPC.BUT nothing will come out of it as it will interact with the Central America landmasses and a part of it will emerge into the EPAC.
First tropical wave of 2004 is introduced in SW caribbean

We are getting very close to EPAC season though.
Thanks for the heads up. Time to start checking the tropics every day again.

You said it right Garrett as from now on the atlantic tropics will have something that we will watch for as those tropical waves begin to travel from the eastern atlantic towards the caribbean and some of them cross Central America and emerge in the EPAC but they will be more frequent when the peak of the season gets closer. In average 100 tropical waves travel the atlantic tropics every year.

This little wave is weakening as it interacts with land and shear is ripping apart the tops of the thunderstorms but it is the first of around 90-100 that every year travel the atlantic tropics but only a handfull of those go ahead and develop.
