Poll: Are pets psychic?

First, I voted yes.

My cat ever since all these rough times in the past week have occurred has been sleeping beside me practically at all times and offering comfort when I seem to need it the most.

I do. There's plenty of animals that can sense things and even weather...like storms approaching and even earthquakes. Pets are skiddish and fidgety when it comes to a 6th sense of weather related phenoms. They alert you when there's fires and sometimes save lives. I just wish I had one now. In the next month or so we'll get a new Beagle.

I do Stormsfury - I know the 4 cats we have are the same way. When things are tense and I'm very upset - they all want my attention - which makes me stop and take the time to brush them or just sit and talk to them. Sometimes it makes me sit down and think when I am with my cats.

I voted yes too. Our Golden Retriever is very intuitive in regards to the weather. She hates storms and likes to hide out in our downstairs half bath (no windows). She'll head back there long before a drop falls. She'll look up at our higher windows (we have a 2 story family room) and take off. Sure enough, we have rain on the way. Of course she'll do this sometimes during a movie too, but she checks the windows first. Quite comical to watch. Then she's all confused - hey wasn't it going to rain she seems to say.

And she does tune into our emotions. If you're having a bad day, she knows it. My daughters especially love to pet her after they'd had a rough day. Great way to unwind after a long day at school.

Pets are great. I'm a cat lover, first and foremost but now I love dogs equally as much. Dogs are even more intuitive to their owners. Cats are more independent (that's why I love them so!) but I love when they curl up in your lap, purring. Another great way to ease stress.

I do think animals are sensetive to human emotion 100% and are tuned into another dimension.

LOL at your dog Miss Mary. I had a greyhound when I was growing up, who was petrified of storms as well. She would go outside, look up at the sky, sniff around and her tail would go between her legs. She would bolt inside and hide under my bed (she had to have her special pillow under there with her too. If there was no one home to put it under the bed for her, she would drag it out of her bed and pull it under my bed!) Sure enough within a few minutes a storm would break and she would only come out when the last raindrop fell.

Ants are great weather forecasters as well. In SA if heavy rains were coming, you would see them marching up the side of the house looking for higher ground.

Her Royal Poogleness, Lady Annabelle (she be a ho') is afraid of NOTHING...except maybe firehead's "used" socks! LOL

I sure hope they're psychic. Got 1 dog, 2 cats, 1 hamster here, and I hope one of them gives me a heads up when the next quake hits.
