Just Venting

#1 Postby Suzi Q » Mon May 03, 2004 9:34 pm

:grr:

Ok, just have to blow off some steam here. I swear I have had the worst 6 months in a row and am SO READY to just run away, even though it wouldn't help. Let's see:
December 2003-Bronchial Pneumonia then herniated 2 disks lifting a freaking gas can. Yes here in Houston you CAN mow during the winter.
January 2004-Daughter calls to announce she's getting a divorce after less than 2 years of marriage. DO NOT REMIND ME HOW MUCH THAT STUPID WEDDING COST. I COULD HAVE BOUGHT A NEW TRUCK.
March 2004-Husband gets DWI, loses his job. Beginning of numerous court house trips. Get bronchial pneumonia AGAIN. Doctor strongly suggests I quit smoking and get allergy testing pronto. YEAH, IN MY SPARE TIME.
April 2004-More courthouse trips. Have to drop two classes due to stupid courthouse trips since hubby has no license. Daughter's high school sweetheart commits suicide on her birthday. LOVELY.
May 2004- Husband gets off with suspended license, and small fine. Great, except now he has to work as an independent contractor, which is more paperwork than I EVEN CARE TO THINK ABOUT. Daughter announces she is moving back home to finish school full time. Mother calls to tell me my aunt is on life support and not expected to make it through the month. And yep, you guess it. IT'S BACK. Started coughing again today, same stupid symptoms and the allergy testing request is still sticking to my refrigerator. We're supposed to go up to see daughter in two weeks, the day I finish finals, get back the day before hubby's license hearing.

And during all this I'm supposed to help my mom pick out a cell phone (how hard IS IT FOR PETE'S SAKE?), pick my classes for summer, get my stupid testing done, finish remodeling the bathroom, try and keep my rheumatoid arthritis under control and not have a nervous breakdown.

NO, I don't need any prayers, I NEED A ONE WAY TICKET TO HAWAII FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS where I'm not expected to be an adult or be responsible or do anything other than just GET A FREAKING GRIP.

Ok, I'm done now. See, even MARVA needs some prozac now and then.

I'm sure things will improve just as soon as I finish off this six-pack of Butterfingers. I really love this new stress diet-you eat whatever you want and just have no energy to worry about it!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone pass the gravy please...................

Marva, oh Marva....SuziQ, oh SuziQ!

If God never gives us more than we can handle, He has you pegged as one incredible woman!

We measure our good days by those that are something less. I'd say a Butterfinger day is right up there these days.

Strange, isn't it, that others admire your strength and see you as the pillar they are not. You are not only able to prop them up...but you are expected to do it.

So when a Butterfinger day arrives, deserved or not, it symbolizes that weakness you are not supposed to let show...that you are not even supposed to think about, or act on, or even feel.

None of us can say with any assurance that better days are ahead. They probably are. Probably is a complex word.

There is little any of us can do for others who battle such woes, but I am going to take some small action on Tuesday just on your behalf.

I don't know if it will be a kind word, a handshake, a smile, or a laugh among friends...but it will be an intentional happy moment with you in mind when I do it.

I, for one, am going to take some of that Butterfinger energy and put it to good use. And in that way, that small way, your "today" will have transformed into something better than your "yesterdays." And that is all any of us can really hope for.

A prayer can't hurt either...so there has been one said at this keyboard tonight. Seems like there's an extra chance for something good to transpire...the moon is brilliant over the desert sky tonight!

Take care there SuziQ. And grab on to that which is good whenever it whisks on by you. It is your turn to ride that bus for a while.

Thanks to all for the kind words. Do believe I might try those virtual lozenges, but do they come on Peppermint?

Holiday Inn? Oh, I see, we're ROUGHING IT. Think the Hyatt is more up my alley.

3 more classes until Finals............my brain should be thoroughly melted after that.

You and my wife must be cut from the same cloth!!!! Her idea of roughing it would be staying at a Hilton or Hyatt that needed some minor repairs!!!

Do I need to bring a bag of Butterfingers to the Hurricane conference?

David:

Best bring two bags. I just looked over the forms for Quarterly Tax Filing for Ken...........my years of accounting WILL come in handy but will those forms will also require continuous IV drips of butterfingers. Or Reeses. Or chocolate ice cream.

Where's the Cool Whip when you need it?

Suzi, Suzi, Suzi.......{{HUGS}} to ya kiddo! HEY..want some SNOW? We've still got snow up at the highest elevations!

Steve is right, God NEVER dishes out more than we can handle. I TRULY believe that in times like this, all they are is tests....God wants to see just how faithful we are and "WHEN", not "IF" we pass these little tests of faith, we are ready for the next step in life and the rewards are out of this WORLD!

Hang in there kiddo, ya know we ALL luv ya!

WELL SAID DENNIS AND TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY TRUE!!!!

There are many, many times we wonder how much more we can take and there will always be more, especially if one shows their faith in the face of adversity!!! As you said Dennis, the rewards may not be immediate, but they will be BOUNDLESS!!!

HANG IN THERE MARVA!!!!!

Just remember to take care of Suzi. Besides the Butterfingers therapy you need to learn to "just say no".

Rant all you want, ANY time!

Once again, thanks to everyone for the wonderful words of encouragement. A special thank you for the chocolates and roses. I haven't gotten roses in I don't know how long.......

Am currently in the middle of a cram fest for finals next week. Did manage to get hubby's insurance, tax crap and some other misc. stuff taken care of. EVEN managed to get one of my scripts filled for my chest mess. Only had it since April 1......hey, better late than never. Am seriously considering nap at this point since I'm just dead from studying and being up half the night worrying over stuff I CAN'T TAKE CARE OF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. Sheesh, I just don't learn.

Duckie darling, you may be seeing a beached whale down your way in a couple of weeks.....that will be me. Just remember to turn me every few hours so I don't turn into toast.........

Ya'll are all so cool for being so supportive and letting me vent through humour. It's the only way I know how. Besides, I know the only reason ya'll keep me around here is for COMIC RELIEF!!!!

Hugs to all
