food poisoning
Thanks for the good wishes, everyone. I feel a little better today, but I am very, very weak. Some liquids are staying down, though.

I had it on a trip to Colorado. It must've been the pepperoni pizza we had at an outdoor restaurant in the city. The next day, 24 hours later, we were hiking in Roxbourgh State Park before I was to go home and I became violently ill. They took me to the hospital and I received 2 IV's. I was VERY dehydrated, to the point where my tongue was like sandpaper. I got another flight the next day.
What Annie had me eat when we got back to her house was a "BRAT" diet - bananas, I don't remember "R", Apple Sauce and toast. Like everyone else said, keep hydrated!!! I hope you're feeling better by now.

I know about the BRAT diet, LOL. It's what I had to eat after my colon surgeries and still do for the most part. It's also called a low residue diet. B - bananas. R - rice. A - applesauce and T - toast (preferably white bread). Plain yogurt with live cultures is a must after being sick like this - it coats the GI tract and helps restore good bacteria, b/c the bad bacteria is what made you sick or didn't help at all. If I find a link for a low residue diet, I'll post it. The foods you eat are just plain, comfort type foods - mashed pototoaes, baked turkey/chicken, noodles/rice/pasta, plain salads, saltines, cooked vegetables, white bread/rolls, etc.
Hope you feel better Sunnyday!

Yikes Steph!!! Raisins = fiber. Not what you want after you've been sick like this!!! LOL But that was a good try.....
Sunnyday - don't forget the yogurt, I highly recommend stocking up on it and having two individual containers a day for a while. Skip the fruit at the bottom, I usually just pitch it. Or you can buy a large container of vanilla yogurt. I have a cup of it a day, adding a little honey mixed in. Tastes quite good actually!
