Moving on up or should it be movig on out

#1 Postby tomboudreau » Sat May 01, 2004 8:13 am

In 3 short weeks, my wife and I are going to be moving from Punxsy to the Pittsburgh area as I have taken a new job. After a long 10 month period of lookin steadily for a new job, one has finally fallen into my lap. We are both excited about this move, as well as a little scared since we have both been country bumpkins our entire lives. I am finished with my job on the 13th of May, and start the new job on the 24th of May. So, I guess so time in that time frame between the 13th and the 24th, I will not be around as we will be in the process of packing, moving, and unpacking all of our stuff. Thankfully, we have a place to stay as her uncle is going to allow us to stay at the house where he grandfather stayed. I really believe this move will be the best thing for us, as I have had nothing but problems with my current job.

No...we don't have any children. Its just the two of us, so we have enough to worry about. My wife is lucky, because her bosses were affraid they would be losing her. She works from home for a mapping company, so she only goes to the office one or 2 times a week. She told them she didnt want to lose the job, and they said good, you can have the job, its just your commute. So, we are going to try to find something that won't be much of a problem in terms for both of us. I will be working 2nd shift, so I wont have to deal with much of a commute in terms of rush hour in the morning. This opportunity is also going to allow me to return back to school, so I will be able to go after my BS degree. I think its just time that I finish up the degree. This is going to be a wonderful opportunity for us both. Thank you all for the wonderful words.

Tom :)

GREAT NEWS TOM! I know what you mean about being a country bumpkin "LOL!" I think I would literally DIE if I had to move to the city.
