The Accident 4-26-04: Finally the long battle's done...

#1 Postby therock1811 » Mon Apr 26, 2004 5:07 pm

I just got home after taking an unscheduled trip to the hospital. The reason...I was hit by a pickup truck! Yep there was a pickup truck sitting in the driveway of a local grocery store and I went to go around it. Well the driver didn't see me in front of him and struck the left side of my wheelchair! It totaled the chair and so now we're waiting on the police report in a few days...:(

JEREMY!! What the heck are we going to do with you???

I hope that you can get a new chair quickly! You didn't mention how serious your injuries were...I hope they were minor if at all.

Glad you are ok there Jeremy!

I'd say you should put a big flashing light about 8 feet up so people can see you coming and going.

Be careful out there!!!

Yeah that's what I'm ready to do! I'm lucky...if I had either 1) not had my seatbelt on or 2) had had it on but had unbuckled during the time between when he hit me and when he finally came to a stop (pushing me along the ground for about 15-20' in the process), I might have been killed!

I couldn't believe it either David...

Well I have the police report...unfortunately the driver of the truck which hit me did not (as far as I know) have car insurance...but it was his fault as I had the right of way...either way I got one thing to say...I'm gonna nail this SOB for all he's got!

Jeremy, there's lots of lawyers who would love to have your case. Just look on the back cover of the phone book. Personal injury. Ka-ching!

BTY road rash hurts! Can you say pain and suffering?

Ed...you're right and I do plan to file suit if the driver, or, if he has it, his insurance, does not cooperate...
