Interesting "line in the sand" so to speak. Where did you find this (source)?
Qatar should be the thumb off the East coast of S.A. but this is much too close to get a lay of the land (country outline). Must have been taken during the afternoon as the sun in behind the shot facing East if that is really Q. Unconfirmed yet.

This image is found at the "Earth Science Picture of the Day" site at http://epod.usra.edu/archive/epodviewer.php3?oid=180640

It mentions on the site that this is, in fact, a view towards the E, looking at the Persian Gulf. The bottom left of the picture is N. Additionally, after a closer look at the image versus a high-resolution image of the nation itself, it appears as this picture was taking S of the town of Al Khawr, Qatar.

:wink: yah. It's their weekend now -back to work on Saturday. They are a whole 3 feet above sea level I believe. Interesting weather, etc. Thanks for the detail SenorP.
