Sky Awareness Week

#1 Postby azskyman » Sun Mar 28, 2004 10:32 pm

Ok Storm2k'ers. Sky Awareness Week (I think this is year 14 for it) is coming up on April 18-24th.

Not that any of us frequenting these parts need to be reminded of the sky and its importance in our lives.

Any suggestions on something we can do to celebrate/further the cause/enjoy Sky Awareness Week 2004?

Thought it might be interesting to see if we can come up with something a little special on Storm2k for that week.

Ideas?

Maybe a photo contest, Photos of some sky related event, such as cloud formations, lightning, sunsets, anything that uses the sky as a focal point.

So many of us take the sky as it is for granted. When most of our lives are spent looking at the sky in some form. Checking out the weather, looking for airplanes (as kids...lol) wathching clouds, lightning, sunsets, sunrises etc.

How about the idea of each of us sending a card to another...etc....and reminding that person of what it is about the sky that we enjoy the most. We could send them so they arrive in Sky Awareness Week. We could even then send the same card to another person...and another...so each day you might be wandering if another card was coming your way. Maybe limit to five cards so it doesn't get expensive to send them.

Food for thought...
