Pressure seems to be dropping, down from 981 earlier. She's looking good to go -- hope SOMEONE is prepared down there.

The pressure has never been measured.

Remember never to treat pressures derived from Dvorak estimates as "real." They can be off by simply vast amounts.

true, but the last pics as the eye wall seems t be moving onshore seem rather impressive

Looking at the IR loop with the recent burst of convective activity, I'd say our little Brazilcane has a shot at Cat 2. I have doubts in the 94 kts the gfdl is forecasting. The gfdl seems to over strengthen hurricanes.....MGC

I think the hurricane was easily a cat 2 at landfall with sustained winds of about 100 mph. And the Brazilian mets werent out to lunch on this one, they were on vacation. How in the hell could anyone with half a brain call this extratropical with 50 mph winds? Incredible.
