Post Fire UPDATE: 2-3 WEEKS TILL RETURNING HOME.. WOO HOO

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Mon Mar 22, 2004 1:43 pm

Hello Storm 2k'ers.. I am here writing to you an update again about my post fire situation..

I actually went to church twice yesterday. Some say I was led to go a 2nd time because of the fire. Others say the Lord led me back. It was probably a little bit of both..

The big story is that after 5 1/2 almost 6 days.. The floors appear to be finally dried out. It is starting to feel like a sauna everytime I go up there lol..

The landlord told me the recarpeting could begin as early as sometime this week. The entire kitchen probably needs to be re-done. The cabinets are all covered with soot and smoke damage. The fan and upper parts of the oven that were burned are completely black.. and my ceiling has a huge black spot on it. It really just hurts to be up there.

One chilling story is that the fire occured on 3/16. Last night when I was at church.. I happened to read the famous "John 3:16" in the bible and it sent a shiver down my spine. God was protecting me on 3/16 and even though it hurts.. At least I'm alive to feel the trauma..

I am still very shaky and edgey.. I know it will slowly subside if I give it time. I'm glad you guys are here to talk too..

There are two other threads on this issue, if it were all in one then you (Stephanie and others) would most likely read at least John's intial
post and the follow-ups to the story. :)
