Tornado Watch ?

#49 Postby Anonymous » Thu Mar 13, 2003 4:58 pm

Well a tornado watch was issued by NSSFC at 11:00AM till 16:00 today, Thursday. Well, nothing happened - not even a sound of thunder. All we had was ocassional showers here in the Charleston area. So boring I even took a nap in the middle of it. No warnings were issued. So much for the tornado watch, guys ! Didn't have a chance to check analyses, so what are the chances of SC getting any more severe weather in the next few days ? As far as I remember, a slight CAD event will probably just indicate rain or showers here Saturday and highs around 54 or so.

[quote="kenl"]oh-well .......Maybe next time !

We had thunderstorms from elevated convection. (I was at work) ... nothing severe but a ton of heavy rain in West Ashley. As for my area, not much as all ... only an additional .12" from the convective debris off of the West Ashley thunderstorm (which likely produced a good half-inch of rain in just a brief time).

Look out next week for potential.
