Gallup poll

#21 Postby sunnyday » Wed Feb 18, 2004 7:01 pm

I said "Peace" to keep the peace among differing opinions, but peace for our nation can't come too soon for me.

The polls that count most are still nine months away. Bush could lose the election. The Democrats could win it.

Both parties need to sharpen their skills and go to work on the public agenda. Kerry needs to quit talking about "giving the government back to the people," and Bush needs to get comfortable enough with who he is to show people he's serious about both the economy and the war on terror.

I fail to understand the lack of vision that both parties show. Campaigns are geared more toward defending the next move than decisively righting the course. Political chess.

Many things will happen this year to change the stage. How these candidates react will be very very important.

If you are missing something, so am I. I have no idea what is going on. As I said before, I am very hesitant to say much because when I do, things are often taken the wrong way.

For the last week or two it has been Kerry,Kerry,Kerry. He isn't the only person in the race and shouldn't be treated that way. :)

Agree Garrett on that but since this morning I haved seen much more coverage for Edwards since his strong second finish in Wisconsin but his real test will be on super tuesday on march 2 when 10 states are for grabs including NY,Ohio,CA,Georgia,Mass,RI,Vermont,Maryland,Minnessota and Connecticut.

Good 'ol Massachusetts (and Rhode Island)... in terms of me being a resident of Massachusetts for so many years. :)

Maybe it's "just me", but has anyone else noticed that the Democrats only consistent message is "We have to/are going to 'beat Bush'"?

If that's all they've got, it doesn't play well with me...sounds more like all they REALLY want is POWER, and have nothing concrete to offer. :grrr:

Southerngale, I assure you that I haven't forgotten the 'little thing' called war. I pray every day that it will be over before any more of our boys are killed.

Of course, I pray that we are never attacked again. However, I am concerned about the war we are in now, not about an attack that may or may not ever happen. We shouldn't live in fear of that, right?

Nope, we shouldn't live in fear of that. But the threat is there. Unfortunately the previous administration allowed attack after attack and did nothing done about it. At least Bush did something about it and will continue to prevent another Sept. 11th.
