Tunes to Help Toddlers Tinkle

#1 Postby southerngale » Wed Feb 18, 2004 3:54 pm

To help motivate toddlers to use the toilet, Chicago mom Vicki Esralew has created a new DVD of music videos entitled "I Gotta GO!" The DVD contains songs that are supposed to encourage toddlers to discard the diapers and go "potty" by themselves. One of the tracks is a reggae-style tune called "Pull Down, Pull On" and has lyrics like "Bye bye diapers/ Hello fun/ I can potty by myself/ No help from no one." Another song, "I Have the Power," motivates with verses like "I didn't know if I'd ever be ready/ Then one day I said 'you know it's time to change my ways'/ The time seemed right/ I'd seen the light/ Now I'm ready for drier days." The DVD/CD package arrives in U.S. stores this week.

LOL! Can't help but think of the commercial with the woman on jury duty -- "Gotta go, gotta go, gotta go right now...gotta go, gotta go right now!"

Any music played while the water is running should help.

Also, we have discovered that another secret to potty training is to dress the little people in their best clothes. They will go number one while you have them completely naked and go number two as soon as they are all dressed!

ROFL..I was just remembering an article I read once when my daughters were being potty trained. It related to boys, but was in the article anyway.

There are two things that stick in my mind, one was to use the vaniflush disks that turn the water blue. When they go pee, the water turns green. Kids apparantly love the effect and want to go more. Another was to float a few cheerios in the bowl and let the little tyke target practice....lol I loved that one.

:) My secret is to tell my 2 year old I don't want her to wet. She tells me every time. She will wet all day for my wife, even asking every 15 minutes. :D Daddy's girl all the way!!!!!!!!!!!

Problem I see in the target practice with Cheerios? A...a little tougher for Emma to aim.
B...she loves to eat Cheerios.

Maybe we should all club in and buy this cd for Chad and Dustin! .....

Target practice sounds really good.. I may just give it a try with my son.. he tends to get distracted and forget what he is doing... next thing we know the floor is wet
