I think it would be great to meet all of you. We need to have a big storm2k picnic this summer, where everyone is invited. 8-)

LOL! You don't have to drink to have fun, especially down here. :) I rarely do, and when I do, it's Kahlua, which most people laugh about because it's not very strong.

I'll have to try that. Mine's usually in milk -- a white russian without the hard stuff.

David... I would like to meet you. Besides... the formal dial-up team should have a reunion.

Who would be in this? Beside me, you, Jacki... those 3 I know.

I've met many many friends in person, that were originally online friends. I met my husband at TWC. I met my old weather buddy, Mike Siedel a few years back. My family and I met OtherHD last year. I've taken cruises with online friends, and flown all over the country to meet online friends. My friend Grimmy is a usual guest at Thanksgiving celebrations at my mothers house! It's great to meet so many folks from different backgrounds, that live in different areas. Its also a great excuse for travel!

A word of caution though, you really must know someone very well online before you go running off around the country to meet someone. A background check isn't a bad idea. There are many resources available to research someone you're intending to meet in person. And if anything about them is red flagged, don't go! I've always met people in a very public place, and felt very sure I "knew" the person well, before meeting.

And who knows who we may run into while in Cali! :)

I LOVE KAHLUA! My favorite drink is a Toasted Almond.

Janswizard - great advice!

I haven't met anyone in person that I've met through the boards, though I did talk to one on the phone.

Thank you very much, Stephanie.

I can honestly say those that frequent this board with me make me feel more comfortable than from other boards... the more understanding we are of each other, i.e. not shutting each other off, if you will the better our possible meetings will be.

I would consider talking on the phone with S2K members, if we could actually have a conversation, at least somewhat. I prefer my parents to be out for awhile, as I mentioned in another thread.

Skywatch_NC wrote:Too bad I'm not related to Donald Trump...yes, his second oldest son is named Eric...and I could fly around the country and meet EVERYWXONE!! :D 8-)

Eric :)

Eric, you consider it and I agree it would be great to meet the many wonderful members of Storm2K, but for us, more so, it is easier said than done. :)

It's possible if you set your heart and mind to it, Tom. :)

It is the moment of the social interaction. I can't tell that I will feel comfortable among the "core group" here at Storm2K;
but at the same time, I do believe I will, but can't put my finger on it at this point.

I'd LOVE a Storm2K picnic/convention...geocentrically located re: Continental US, to maximize attendance.

This means MISSOURI!!! :D

I would be there. Okay how about this - I'll start a thread if you plan on being there and what is the farthest you would travel to meet.
