A week ago my daffodils were popping up. When all the ice is gone, I'll take a look and see what has happened to them. The snow won't bother them, but this ice might.

I hope that they are okay Bestofour!

It was funny, but this afternoon I saw a small group of robin sitting by the side of the road in the sun. They looked so cold (and were probably alittle ocnfused as well!).

Daffodils are great because they multiply and you don't have to worry about putting in new bulbs a few years later when the others have died.

My hyacinths are peeping out, WAY before
the snow crocus and such, and, I have been
hand-raking leaves back over them, saying,
"NO! NO! Not NOW!"

LOL, looks like rain, I heard two robins singing to
each other, yesterday - the mating call - and, I
am assured by it that Spring is JUST around the
corner!

I can't wait Breeze!

Actually, I've seen alot of geese flying around lately - more so than normal. The birds have been enjoying our "thaw" - it's always nice to hear them singing.

I took a walk around my house yesterday and I did notice some daffodil, tulip and crocuses pushing up through the ground.

I also noticed I need to go on "poop patrol" as well.

the only flowers i have blooming are in my sun window, a 5 year old geranium and the "mayflower" plant that seems to thrive in this dry low sun environment-:)-oh i see a vinca trying to blossom also-lol- it has been about 30 days now since we have been above the freezing mark-and cabin fever is definately setting in-2 years ago i planted almost 200 bulbs and i'd say less then 30 percent made it thru the harsh winter-this past fall i planted another 100 bulbs-hopefully the snowpack will make a difference-and i will have some dazzling blooms in apr.!! i am not only thinking spring now-but desperately waiting for it!---pete-- and on a side note breeze very few birds wintered here this past year-my feeders have been almost void of birds for the last 2 months-

I hope that more of the bulbs come up for you this year!

As long as I keep filling the feeder, the birds keep coming - sparrows, mourning doves, blue jays, finches. We have a juge holly in the back, so there have been berries for them to feed on also. We also throw out our old bread.

Looks like rain, it has been an over-all mild
winter, here, as, I don't usually see the robins
until March. But, like Stephanie, there's been
quite the variety of birds eating from the feeders.
Those hyacinths made it through the snow,
and, several of them will be blooming, in the
next week or so! As for the giant crocus that
I planted in the front, last fall, they haven't
even "peeped", yet.
