That's quite interesting, it also looks like it may have some indirect connection to the MJO too, since it has a close relationship with the ENSO as well.

Now that I think about it, I have seen plenty of interseasonal variability in Indian Ocean SSTA, but I never really thought much of it until now.

That was really a great read.

Madden Julian Oscillation activity is strongest in the Indian Ocean. Therefore, you will be a lot of SST variability in this region. Indian Ocean SSTs are indirectly related to the Pacific ENSO.
