More Rain for SE Texas
Well I have been up since 3:30 a.m. - watching a very heavy line of storms move across the Houston area. They are now in my area - bringing rain, wind and thunder and lightning.
How much longer are these storms going to last?

The storms-just for an hour or two. The rain-GET THE CANOE!
They just mentioned wintry precip on Channel 2 for tomorrow night for our northern neighbors. Think we're gonna be pretty much water-bound for the next 24 hours. 1-3" normal, 3-5" HIGHLY probable. Soon as it gets light out I'll check my rain gage. Been pouring here since I got home last night.

I'm up towards Conroe and if Frank Billingsley's forecast verifies, I might see some sleet come Friday. I stray snow flake would be nice. Ok, I'm asking for too much aren't I?
lol
I have not checked my rain guage but my front drive is under water. My driveway is a gravel road. As of late yesterday evening I had 2 inches in my rain guage. The rain hasn't stopped since so I don't know how much we have gotten now. More on the way!!!!

I think my freaking rain gauge broke last night(it is digital)!!!! It has been showing 1.07" since 9 pm last night and I KNOW THAT AIN'T RIGHT!!!! I emptied 5" out of the old standby rain guage this am adn it hasn't been more than 2 weeks since I emptied it before so we obviously have had more than 1"!!!!!

it is pouring here now.
try living on a mudd hill or excuse me..under normal conditions its a dirt road.It will take a severe drought to return my road to normal if is such a thing.I've done been stuck too today..no problem going down...its the up.I could use a canoee for the bottom though cause the "low laying roadway"is under water...ankle deep.
rain gauge is now sitting at 4.21 and still falling. my hill...after getting pulled down it with 3 chains was a river flowing downward& off into the woods.water is in huge pools all over yard.it was squishy when walking in it yesterday.I really hope we get a 1 day break like they are calling for tomorrow.I need a severe drought right now.
If I was wise....I would collect tons of rain barrels and sell the rain.I'd be rich

Unfortunately...no
NWS (and of course local) forecasts have been trending colder each day though. Right now KFDM shows 38 for a high on Friday. They have consistently been lowering our highs each day as the day gets closer though. Nothing to get excited over, but something to watch.
