A last hope for winter in Texas?

#1 Postby Portastorm » Tue Feb 10, 2004 4:56 pm

Attention Texas Snow Geese:

JB from Accuweather says decent chance that by Friday night, snow/ice is on the ground north of I-10 from Junction to Childress. (Sorry Houston).

I dunno. At this late stage of winter, this looks like our last hope for anything interesting weatherwise before severe storm season begins.

He is really bullish on arctic air plunging our temps. Meanwhile, the NWS forecasters are banking on their GFS, like usual.

Our weekend forecast calls for chances of rain with lows in the 30s. It could get interesting for some if the temps are colder.

You're right about that, the models have inaccurately forecasted these arctic outbreaks all winter.

Well, we did have that particularly brutal arctic chill a few weeks ago which brought us frigid temps in the 70's for a few days!
